A Rule Management and Elicitation Tool for SWRL Rule Bases
نویسندگان
چکیده
Rules are increasingly being used to represent knowledge in ontology-based systems on the Semantic Web. As the size of such rule bases increases, users face the age old problem in understanding and managing the complexity of the knowledge represented by the rules. To support rapid exploration of rule bases and meet the scalability goals of the Semantic Web, techniques are needed to provide simplified interpretations of rules as well as high-level abstractions of their computational structures. To address this problem, we have implemented a rule management tool called Axiomé. Axiomé was developed as a Protégé-OWL plug-in and supports visual rule base exploration, automated rule categorization, rule paraphrasing, and rule elicitation functionality with the goal of facilitating the management of large SWRL rule bases.

An Executive Approach Based On the Production of Fuzzy Ontology Using the Semantic Web Rule Language Method (SWRL)
Today, the need to deal with ambiguous information in semantic web languages is increasing. Ontology is an important part of the W3C standards for the semantic web, used to define a conceptual standard vocabulary for the exchange of data between systems, the provision of reusable databases, and the facilitation of collaboration across multiple systems. However, classical ontology is not enough ...
متن کاملThe SWRLAPI: A Development Environment for Working with SWRL Rules
SWRL is an expressive OWL-based rule language that can be used to increase the amount of knowledge encoded in OWL ontologies. While semantically a SWRL rule can be considered as an additional type of OWL axiom, the authoring and management of SWRL rule bases requires specialized tools that are not typically present in standard OWL development environments. In this paper, we describe such a tool...
متن کاملSWRL2SPIN: A tool for transforming SWRL rule bases in OWL ontologies to object-oriented SPIN rules
SWRL is a semantic web rule language that combines OWL ontologies with Horn Logic rules of the RuleML family of rule languages, extending the set of OWL axioms to include Horn-like rules. Being supported by the Protégé ontology editor as well as by popular rule engines and ontology reasoners, such as Jess, Drools and Pellet, SWRL has become a very popular choice for developing rule-based applic...
متن کاملGraph-based Editor for SWRL Rule Bases
In this paper we present a prototypical implementation of a graphical tool for creating and editing (DL-safe) SWRL rules. The tool uses a graphbased approach to model rules expressed in the SWRL language. Rules are built from concepts and roles defined in an OWL ontology. Such a knowledge base can be visualised and edited in a user-friendly interface. Moreover, the presented tool provides metho...
